Born in Porters Lake, Nova Scotia, Don was proud of reaching the age of 91, and his marriage of 62 years.
Don was a hard worker who had a thirst for knowledge and learning. He served 20 years as corporal with the RCMP, and in 1967, 1968 and 1969, he achieved top marksman with the Canadian Rifle Team in Bisley, England, breaking records for his achievements. He enjoyed curling, flying, golf, managing and making curling ice, fishing, hunting, listening to his HAM radio and enjoying quality time up the lake at the cabin.
He was a beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
Don was predeceased by his wife Marguerite in 2019, and his daughter Wendy Wilson in 2023. He is survived by his loving family: daughter Tracy Keizer, grandchildren Ben Lambert (Katharina) and Quinn Lambert (Alex), great-granddaughter, Ruby Lambert, son Greg Keizer (Becky) and son-in-law, Shamus Wilson.
A big thank-you to Patsy Evans, who cared for and befriended Don for many years. An exemplary thank-you to the Evergreen Extended Care staff for their ongoing care and support.
