It is with sadness I announce the passing of my beloved husband Roly Demeester.
Roly is survived by his wife Cindy (Cynthia), his mother Dina, and his four children, Aaron, Nathan (Tera), Issac (Sarah), Katie (Matt), two stepchildren Jessica (Clark), Josh (Jennifer) and six grandchildren. He is also survived by his three brothers John, Dennis (Linne) and George (Julie), as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Valere.
Roly was born in Belgium and came to Canada as a young child with his parents. He grew up in St. Thomas, Ontario. As an adult he lived in several places in Ontario.
In 2006, Cindy and Roly undertook the adventure of moving to Powell River, BC. Driving across Canada in their old yellow school bus was an unforgettable experience.
Roly loved music, fishing, hunting and working on the farm. He was always quick with a smile and a laugh for all that he met. It wasn’t unusual for Roly to befriend people he met while he fished. He would often invite them home for a supper of goat or rabbit. These people all became lifelong friends.
