Powell River RCMP reported the following for August 24 to 30, 2023.
Total calls for service: 159
Thefts: 4
Break and enter: 2
Impaired driving: 3
Assaults: 7
Mischief: 6
Mental health: 17
August 23; Joyce Avenue, 4700 block
At approximately 12:29 pm, Powell River RCMP responded to a report of a theft from Mark’s. The store’s employee provided a description of the suspect, who was located by police a few blocks away. The 25-year-old female was arrested for theft under $5,000 and after further investigation, was also arrested for possession of stolen property and possession of a controlled substance. The woman was released to appear in provincial court.
