A Christmas Adventure
Molly Hillier, Grade 6
École Côte du Soleil
“Ahhhhh!” Sophie cried as the world blurred around her. She had fallen out of her bed and now she was falling through the sky somewhere very cold.
She turned to get a better look at her surroundings: big mountains, colourful lights, and snow. Lots of snow.
She looked down at the ground as it got closer until, BANG! She had hit it. The snow cushioned her fall so she was fine.
She walked over to a sign she had fallen next to. “Christmas town” she read out loud. If it was really Christmas town then where was the workshop and the elves? Ohhh and Santa!
She got up so fast that she stumbled forward and almost face-planted in the snow. Maybe someone is here, like an elf!
“Hello?” she called into the frosty air. “Anyone there?”
Sophie heard a scurry nearby.
“Please come out, I need help.”
Then, to her surprise, a little elf stepped out of a bush.
“Don’t tell Santa I was out here, he told me to stick close to the workshop, but I can’t help wandering around.”
“Ohh could you take me there? I want to see Santa.” Sophie asked.
“Well…..okay. Just don’t tell Santa I was out here. Take my hand.”
So she did. Then he tapped his nose and they appeared right in front of Santa!
“Ohhh Santa I didn’t have time to write a letter so I’ll ask now. I want a…“ then she woke up on the floor of her bedroom.

Cory and the No Christmas Nebula
Menat’they Blaney, Grade 6
École Côte du Soleil
Did you know that a planet in the No Christmas Nebula hates Christmas so much it’s illegal to say Christmas?
I’m gonna tell the story of an alien named Cory, who travelled all the way to earth just to see what Christmas was like.
Once on a planet called Desboot it was Christmas Eve, Cory asked his mom if he could celebrate Christmas but his mom got really mad because it was illegal to say “Christmas” on Desboot, so Cory had a plan to try to celebrate. He was gonna go to earth to celebrate Christmas, but there was a little problem, he didn’t have a spaceship.
So when the whole town fell asleep, he walked all the way to the only space port in his town and waited for the guards to go home. When the space port closed, he snuck through the window and stole the spaceship. It was easy for him because his dad had taught him before he went to fight in the clone wars.
He missed his dad, but that didn’t matter right now, the only thing that mattered was that he could celebrate Christmas. He got to earth and landed but when he tried to celebrate with a random family they thought he was a monster and so did the rest of the neighbours.
So he went back to Desboot but he realized he skipped 40 years when he crossed galaxies, so his mom was already 400 years old.
The end.

Christmas Morning
Pearson Coburn, Grade 6
Westview Elementary School
“Yes... it's Christmas morning, quick, tell everyone to get up,” I said to my whole family.
I was so happy until I saw the clock. It's only 6:15 am.
My parents said go to bed, so I did. I woke up to my brother yelling “it's time to open presents.”
At this point I ran so fast I felt like Flash when I got to the tree. I saw so many presents and my parents were on the couch waiting.
First I opened my stocking, it had so much candy, then I went right to the presents. I took all the presents that had my name and gave my parents theirs, and before I knew it, they were all gone and I wished I took my time.
But then at least I get to play with all my toys and eat my candy and sit by the fire with my family and drink hot chocolate with marshmallows. Then I looked at the plate that had cookies and milk with a couple carrots that were for Santa and the reindeer and it was all gone, and there was a letter from Santa that said thank you for the cookies and milk and that the reindeer loved the carrots.

An Elves Perspective
Taylor Campbell, Grade 6
Westview Elementary School
Hi! My name is Candy Cane and I'm an elf! Here is my perspective on the holidays!
First I start off in the workshop with all my elf buddies, we work day and night wrapping and creating gifts to be sent out to kids all around the globe (if they are on the nice list ).
On November 30th at 12:00 at night all us elves travel to see our favourite kid. While they are asleep we hide in an easy-ish spot so they can find us in the morning!
As the days go by I like to add a little twist by progressively hiding in a harder spot to make it more fun! The month goes by fast when l'm having fun, but it's Christmas Eve today! Which means I have to leave TONIGHT!
I really wish I could say goodbye to them, I mean this is URGENT! I only saw them in the morning when they were looking for me.
"WHERE ARE THEY!?!"
After like six hours I hear the door open.
Wow they sound excited, well Christmas is tomorrow so I'm not surprised. They were saying goodbye. At 12:00 at night (again) I travel back. Sometimes I see Santa on the way so I get a ride back.
When I finally get to the North Pole, I run into the workshop to tell my elf buddies about my holidays away from the North Pole!
