Rivermen come back in third period to defeat Powell River Kings

Langley Rivermen overcame a two goal, third period deficit and defeated Powell River Kings 4-3 in overtime at Hap Parker Arena on Saturday, October 5.

Joel Purdom, Calvin Beard and Christian Maro scored for the Kings, who beat the Rivermen 24 hours earlier in the same venue. Beard, Ben Wright and Max Jelavic were credited with assists for the home team, while goaltender Cooper Flemming made 39 saves in the loss.

Powell River sent a total of 28 shots at Langley goaltender Charlie Tritt.

All seven goals were scored at even strength. The home team had six power play opportunities, while the Rivermen were unsuccessful three times when the hosts were shorthanded. 

Attendance at the BC Hockey League game was 744.
