Powell River U15 Kings advance to provincial final

Matchup set for BC Hockey Tier 3 Championship gold medal game

The 2024/2025 BC Hockey Tier 3 provincial championship tournament is being held at Cranbrook Memorial Arena.

Powell River U15 Kings cruised to a 16 -1 win over Sunshine Coast U15 Blues in one of two semi-final games played at the BC Hockey Tier 3 Championship tournament in Cranbrook on Wednesday, March 20.

Kooper Kozmeniuk scored five goals, including a natural hat-trick in the first period. Jack Murphy, Cooper Lawry, Lucas Gruntman and Cameron Milne had two goals each, and singles were scored by Carson Raffin, Kesler Brown and Trey Lingard.

Terrace defeated Whitehorse 3-2 in the other semi-final to book a spot in the final. The gold medal game will be played at 11 am on Thursday, March 20.

During the round-robin portion of the 10-team tournament, Powell River finished atop Pool A after lopsided results against Greater Trail, Whitehorse and Dawson Creek.
