Nic Porchetta and Chad Niddery each scored twice to lead Powell River Regals to an 8-1 win over the visiting Nanaimo Steelemen at Hap Parker Arena on Friday, December 6.
Cohen Mastrodonato, Gabe Shipley, Bryson Cecconi and Garrett Brandsma also scored for the Regals, who led 3-0 through the first 40 minutes of play and held an 8-0 lead in the third period until Nanaimo broke Laszlo Tamasik's shutout bid with just over a minute to play.
In addition to scoring, Cecconi set up three goals. Niddery, Porchetta, Brandsma and Shipley had two assists each, while Mastrodonato and Brad Cimaglia recorded one helper apiece. Shots were 50 to 36 in favour of Powell River shooters.
The two teams meet again tonight at Hap Parker Arena. Game time is 5 pm.
