Powell River Regals sweep weekend series with Nanaimo

Chad Niddery scored a pair of goals for the second time in as many nights for Powell River Regals on Saturday, December 7. His second of the game in the second period versus Nanaimo Steelemen broke a 3-3 deadlock and turned out to be the game winner.

Powell River skated to an 8-1 win over Nanaimo 24 hours earlier.

Mac Roy chipped in with two goals of his own in the third period Saturday night, and assisted on one other, while Garrett Brandsma and Bryson Cecconi both found the back of the net for the second time in the two game weekend series. Assists were also credited to Tyler Durant, Brad Cimaglia (two), Brock Sawyer, Alex Jalbert, Bekkam Willis and goaltender Laszlo Tamasik, who stopped 30 shots, five fewer than his counterpart.

Regals’ next action is in Lake Cowichan on December 29.
