Three goals late in the third period snapped a six-game winless streak at home for Powell River Kings on Saturday, October 29.

Twenty-four hours after being shut out by the visiting Langley Rivermen 3-0 in BC Hockey League (BCHL) action at Hap Parker Arena, Kings rallied from an early deficit and downed the same team 6-3 in the same venue.

Langley scored early and late in the first period, but Powell River also notched a pair of goals in the opening 20 minutes, one from Jack Blanchett and another by Casey Aman, which briefly gave the Kings a 2-1 lead.

After a scoreless second period, Will Jones put the home team ahead 3-2 with a goal 32 seconds into the final frame, but the visitors equalized on a power play just 40 seconds later.

Blanchett and Karter McNarland set up the eventual game winner by Parker Lalonde with just under eight minutes remaining, then Anthony Lucarelli supplied an insurance goal for the Kings two minutes later.

Branden Toye rounded out the scoring with an empty-net goal to make the final 6-3 in favour of the Kings.

Kyle Metson made 26 saves for the Kings, who outshot the Rivermen 41-29. Attendance was 546.
