Powell River Villa played its second of three straight Vancouver Island Soccer League home matches on October 28 against Lakehill FC (Victoria).

Villa created multiple chances in the first half, including 15 minutes in when Jerod Timothy was able to get in behind defenders for a close range shot that was saved by the Lakehill keeper. Then, midway through the first half, off a corner kick, Villa defender Camien Duggan put a header on target which was cleared off the goal line, denying the home side a go-ahead goal.

The 0-0 deadlock was broken in the 72nd minute when Lakehill converted a corner kick into the only goal of the match; a header from the back post found a Lakehill player, who put the close-range shot past Villa keeper Matt Liknes.

In the final minutes of the game, Villa players threw everything forward, narrowly missing a number of chances, but were unable to tie the game. The 1-0 result ended Villa’s four-game unbeaten streak.
