Powell River Bantam Kings rep hockey team brought home the Vancouver Island Amateur Hockey Association banner this weekend with a decisive 8-1 win over TriPort’s North Island Eagles.

Tier three champions for the region, the Kings now advance to provincial finals scheduled in Burnaby, March 18 to 23.

“The boys have become a well-disciplined team, sticking to their systems and supporting each other,” said Craig Harper, head coach. “They’ve picked the perfect time of year to peak as a team, firing on all cylinders and feeling good about themselves.”

The team’s success comes down to hard work and dedication by coaches Harper and Greg Piccinin, cutting-edge systems training from Rick McLaren and members of Powell River Kings, and the unified efforts of every team member.
