Alberni Valley Bulldogs scored twice in the first period and added another pair of goals in the third period en route to a 4-0 shutout road win over Powell River Kings on Saturday, September 7.

The game at Hap Parker Arena in Powell River Recreation Complex was the first of the BC Hockey League (BCHL) preseason for the Powell River, while Alberni was in action for the second time in 24 hours after downing Victoria Grizzlies at home by a score of 3-2.

Goaltender Elliot Pratt made 25 saves for the Kings, who were outshot 29-25 over 60 minutes of play. The home team was unable to convert on two power plays. The visitors capitalized twice in four opportunities with the extra skater.

Kings host Nanaimo Clippers on Sunday, September 8, in another preseason matchup. Game time is 1:30 pm.
