Goal scoring output continues for Powell River U15 Kings at BCs

Minor hockey team improves its record to 3-0 at provincial championship tournament

The 2024/2025 BC Hockey U15 Tier 3 provincial championship tournament is being held at Cranbrook Memorial Arena.

Powell River U15 Kings continue to dominate offensively through three games at the BC Hockey Tier 3 provincial championship in Cranbrook.

After opening the 10-team tournament with wins over Greater Trail (9-2) and Whitehorse (10-3), Powell River shut out Dawson Creek 9-0 on Tuesday, March 18. 

Kooper Kozmeniuk and Lucas Gruntman scored hat-tricks in game three, while Reid Stekman had a pair of goals. The first goal of the game, and eventual game-winner, came off the stick of Gabriel Caldarone. Powell River led 3-0 after the first period and 5-0 heading into period three. 

Goals were set up by Kesler Brown (three), Gruntman (two), Cameron Milne, Blake Peters, Caldarone, Carson Laing, James Barrows and Carson Raffin.

Kozmeniuk leads the tournament in scoring with nine goals and four assists for 13 points.

Powell River faces Ridge Meadows on Wednesday, March 19.
