by Kyle Wells [email protected] Powell River raised Mixed Martial Arts competitor Michael Hill will be fighting in his fifth professional bout in Victoria on Saturday, November 5.
As a part of Armageddon’s AFC 7: Break Out, Hill, who has a professional record of four wins and zero losses, will square off against Victoria boy Karel Bergen who boasts the same record as Hill. This is a short-notice fight for Hill, but he said that he has been focused in his training, is in great shape and is ready to go.
With a win here Hill said he may be in line to fight for the Armageddon 170-pound belt. Hill’s goal is to go undefeated and collect nine wins by the time the next Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) comes to Vancouver, which will most likely not be until 2013 at the earliest. With a record like that, Hill has a chance to be put on the bill as a local fighter in a preliminary bout.
AFC 7 will take place at Bear Mountain Arena in Colwood. Tickets start at $30 and are available by phone at 250.478.8384. Doors open at 6 pm. For more information interested readers can find out more online.
