Powell River Kings hosted Prince George Spruce Kings in the first of two weekend games between the two BC Hockey League clubs on Friday, October 25.

The game was the first for Stephan Seeger Jr. as Powell River's head coach. He replaced Glenn Anderson as bench boss earlier this week.

Marek Beaudoin scored the lone goal for Powell River in a 5-1 loss to the visitors, who will look to sweep the two-game set tonight (October 26) at Hap Parker Arena.

Beaudoin’s goal at 9:14 of the third period, set up by Wyatt Davis and Alex Loftgren, briefly cut a two-goal deficit in half. Prince George responded at 11:43 to make it 3-1 and added two more insurance goals in the final minutes of the game.

Powell River outshot Prince George 29-27. Both teams went zero for five on the power play. Attendance was 691.

Game time tonight is 7 pm.
