It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donovan Hanlon in Victoria, BC, on September 5, 2024. We are grateful that he is finally free of pain and suffering.
Donovan has been reunited with those who have departed before him. He is survived by Leanne Francescutti; their son Morgan Hanlon; his sister Theresa McCullough (Rod, Sarah); his second mom Tina Hanlon (Patti Young, Beth Livingstone and Sharlene Coulter); and many more cherished family and friends.
Donovan loved hunting, fishing, the outdoors and cats. He worked shake blocking, mixed logging and on the boom until his health no longer allowed it. He said he never had a bad day in the bush.
Donovan had a great sense of humour and was a great listener, and used these skills to help many with their own battles. He loved all his family and friends.
Donovan fought countless health battles from asthma to kidney disease to cancer. He was always able to stay positive, strong and real.
A Catholic funeral mass will be held on Saturday, September 28, at 1:30 pm at Church of the Assumption, followed by a graveside burial at Cranberry Cemetery, and then join us for a celebration of life at the Italian Hall.
