We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beautiful mother, Kathy Vallier, on September 9, 2024, at 7:55 pm. She was surrounded by her family and friends.
Kathy was born on April 25, 1964, in Ocean Falls, BC. She moved to Powell River with her family, where she met the love of her life, Nick Vallier. They had three beautiful children, Christina Vallier (Alex, William and Lily), Paul Vallier (Colby and Dani) and their beautiful angel baby.
Kathy was such a fierce, strong, courageous woman who battled colon cancer and pancreatic cancer after losing her husband Nick to brain cancer. Kathy never gave up, no matter what was thrown her way, she remained strong and continued to be positive in hopes she would be able to beat her cancer.
Kathy loved to be in the kitchen cooking up a storm, whether it be making her famous homemade perogies, banana muffins and her blueberry loaves, among many other recipes. She loved her family and friends and the support they all gave her during her difficult times.
Kathy is survived by her sister Leanne Hill, her brother Richard Nordentoft, her children, Christina Vallier and Paul Vallier, her five grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Kathy was predeceased by her mother and father (Mae and Tony Nordentoft), her brother-in-law Tim Vallier, her husband Nick and their beautiful angel baby.
A celebration of life for Kathy will be held November 30, 2024, at 1 pm at the Italian Hall.
Per Kathy’s wishes, it will be potluck style. Please bring your favourite home-cooked meals, and there will be some board games/card games out to play in her memory.
