Born in Nelson, Don lived in many locations around BC. From Abbotsford, he settled on Savary Island full time in 1991 and Powell River in 2003.
Don was a businessman, pilot and tugboat captain. Community oriented, Don was instrumental in forming and building the Savary Island Fire Department and First Responders. In Powell River he volunteered with the Hospital Auxiliary and Wild Ocean Whale Society. He was an avid crib player, gun club member and fisherman who was willing to help neighbours and friends at the drop of a hat.
Don leaves behind his loving wife Karen, the remainder of their combined family, and many friends. There’s no service by request.
