In memoriam: Dave Alexander Davidson

Dave Alexander Davidson or “D.A.D.” passed on May 7, 2024, preceded by wife Eileen Davidson (née Armitage) in 2014, and also by sisters Doreen and Joyce (his twin). He is survived by three children Corey (Shelley), Laura and Wes, six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and another on the way.

Dave was born in Vancouver on September 5, 1934. He attended high school at Lord Byng and Point Grey.

He moved to Powell River in 1955 as an electrical apprentice, then to the fire department in 1960 for 31 years. He was involved in Scouting and Guides, becoming head of the Sunshine Coast area.

Dave retired to Union Bay, BC, in 1992. He was involved in the “Union Bay” Community Hall, Historical Church and Historical Society, including heritage buildings, post office/museum.

A celebration of life will be held at Union Bay Community Hall, 5401 Island Highway South, on June 8, from 1 to 4 pm, for anyone wishing to attend.
