Betty passed away after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s.
She moved to Powell River in 1968 and managed Columbia Stores in Townsite for many years until the store closed. Her next employment was with the Municipality of Powell River, where she retired as the deputy treasurer after over 20 years of service.
Betty met and married Alec Knudsen in 1971. Alec passed away in 1986.
Betty will be so missed by her three children, Wayne (Lenore), Gail, and Cathie (Brent), along with three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara (Smith) of Rock Creek, BC.
Betty was a caring and loving person and very generous to everyone she met. Mom loved Powell River and only moved away when she needed more care and to be closer to her children.
