It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marianna Scott.
Marianna was predeceased by her husband Fred (2012), and is survived by her son Mark (Judy), granddaughter Nicole and grandson Eric (Lily).
Marianna was born and raised in Shanghai, China. She immigrated to Canada when she was just 18 and made Vancouver her home. She met and married the love of her life, Fred Scott, in 1953.
Marianna continued to work until she had her first and only child, Mark, and then became a stay-at-home mom until Mark was a teenager. She had a passion for travel and had many adventures abroad. She loved playing duplicate bridge and attained the Life Master level in the American Contract Bridge League.
Marianna had a flair for fashion and was always dressed to the nines. She was creative and sewed, quilted and crafted for many years. She volunteered for many organizations over the years, including the Powell River Hospital Economy Shop.
A memorial service will be held at 1 pm on Friday, February 23, 2024, at Westview Baptist Church, 3676 Joyce Avenue, in Powell River. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Powell River Hospital Foundation.
