Construction of a new transit exchange at Powell River Town Centre Mall has been pushed from its original finish date of June 24, to July 16.
It was reported by the Peak in June that the new bus facility is being relocated from the north side of mall, where the BC Liquor outlet is located, to the west side of the building.
In a July 10, BC Transit media release, BC Transit and the city are advising customers that the new transit exchange will open on July 16.
"This transit exchange will be safe and comfortable for our customers and more conducive to the space," stated BC Transit in the media release. "The exchange will be located across from the mall entrance with quick access to all the amenities within the mall."
The new location of the bus exchange is outside of the CIBC bank mall entrance at 7100 Alberni Street.
