December 29; Marine Avenue, 4500 block
At approximately 11:02 pm, Powell River RCMP were conducting patrols on Marine Avenue and observed a vehicle speeding in the 50km/hr zone near Alexander Street. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver displayed signs of impairment. The breath demand was read and the driver provided a breath sample, which registered a fail on the approved screening device. The 21-year-old male was issued a 90-day driving prohibition and his vehicle was impounded for 30 days under the Motor Vehicle Act.
