At approximately 8:28 pm on January 1, Powell River RCMP received a report from two residents that a male who was known to them, called them on the phone, threatened to shoot them with a crossbow and threatened to beat them up.
Police located the male, arrested him for uttering threats and transported him to the Powell River RCMP detachment cells.
The male was eventually released to appear in provincial court.
