Officers reported the following for January 11 to 17, 2024.

January 15 ; Joyce Avenue, 4300 block
At approximately 9:46 am, Powell River RCMP received a report of a theft from a vehicle. Sometime between January 13 at 5 pm and January 15 at 9:46 am, someone entered a vehicle parked at that location and stole a wallet from inside. 

January 12; Dixon Road
At approximately 3:20 am, Powell River RCMP observed a vehicle travelling north on Highway 101 near Dixon Road going approximately 35 kilometres per hour in a marked 80 kilometres per hour zone. Police stopped the vehicle and spoke to the driver, a 26-year-old female from Powell River. Police detected an odour of liquor coming from the driver and a breath sample was obtained. The driver provided a breath sample which registered a fail on the approved screening device. As a result, the driver was issued a 90-day driving prohibition and the vehicle was impounded for 30 days under the provisions of the Motor Vehicle Act.
