Powell River RCMP officers reported the following for January 3 to 10, 2024.

January 4; Marine Avenue
At approximately 2:09 pm, Powell River RCMP attempted to stop a vehicle heading northbound on Marine Avenue in Westview after the driver was identified as being prohibited from driving. The vehicle failed to stop for police, causing a considerable safety risk to the public. A short time later, the vehicle was located in a parking lot on Willingdon Avenue.
The driver was arrested and is currently facing charges for dangerous driving, flight from police and prohibited driving. The driver was transported to the local RCMP detachment and released a short time later so he could attend court at a future date.
