On December 16, Powell River RCMP responded to a report that two trucks had breached a gate leading into the Catalyst Paper Tis’kwat mill in Townsite and were driving around the property.
Police responded and observed one of the trucks leaving the mill property. The truck was stopped and the occupants were arrested for break and enter and mischief. The second truck was located abandoned on the mill property.
Both truck beds were filled with various electrical components and tools that had been taken from the mill. Both vehicles were seized by police.
After further investigation, police learned that there was a third vehicle involved in the break and enter and theft. The third vehicle was located at Saltery Bay Ferry Terminal and the occupants were arrested for break and enter and mischief. The third vehicle was also seized by police. The investigation is ongoing.
