Powell River RCMP reported the following for March 9 to 15, 2022.

March 10; Kelly Creek Road, 10200 block
Police were called for a report of a break and enter. It was determined that sometime during the last week, unknown suspect(s) cut the lock to a shed at that location and made off with a Husqvarna 455 chainsaw and wood lathe.
March 12; Joyce Avenue, 5000 block
Just before 9 pm, police were called to an assault in progress in the parking lot at Powell River Recreation Complex. Investigation revealed that a female subject approached a group of six or seven teenagers who were setting off fireworks. When she told the group to stop, one of the males poured a beer over her head, threw her to the ground and choked her. When police arrived the suspects had already fled the scene. Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the assault or who may have video of the incident to contact the detachment.
March 14; Selkirk Avenue, 4000 block
At approximately 1 pm, police received a report of a break and enter. Once on scene, police learned that a shed had been broken into with several items being stolen. The missing items were described as a girl’s white and purple 12” Supercycle bicycle, a black and yellow 20” Hyper Bear mountain bike, a gas weed eater, pressure washer and a camouflage child’s scooter. The items have since been recovered and the investigation is continuing.
March 16; Willingdon Beach at Haul Road
Police were advised about an abandoned scooter on a trail. No one was around and there was no apparent reason for the scooter to be abandoned. The scooter was found off road in an area that was beyond its capabilities. The scooter is described as a grey Winner Alpine. The owner is asked to call the detachment to make arrangements for its return.
