Police Patrol: Powell River RCMP report

Powell River RCMP reported the following for February 23 to March 1, 2022.

MISSING LIQUOR: Powell River RCMP are looking for information on the suspect shown, wanted in connection with a theft at the BC Liquor Store in Town Centre Mall. Anyone with information is asked to contact the police.

February 20, Town Centre Mall

At 2:44 PM Powell River RCMP received a report of a theft at the BC Liquor Store. A male suspect stole a Jamieson box that contained five 1.5-litre bottles of Bacardi rum. The box of liquor is valued at $300. The male suspect is described as Caucasian, in his 20s, with spikey, dirty blonde hair,  wearing a hoodie. Police are still investigating.  RCMP file number 2022-748. A photo of the suspect is shown. Powell River RCMP request that anyone knowing who this suspect is to contact the detachment at 604.485.6255.

February 24, Abbotsford Street

Powell River RCMP received multiple complaints of theft from motor vehicles parked along Abbotsford Street. Various items stolen from multiple vehicles include a purse, wallet, cash, keys, a bible and sunglasses. No suspects have been identified. Personal identification was recovered on Alberni Street on February 25 and returned to the owner. Police remind the public not to leave valuables in their vehicles.

February 24, Duncan Street, 7100 block

At 9:51 pm, RCMP responded to two males trespassing on a construction site in the 7100 block of Duncan Street. The two males were located by a plumber who arrived on site and the males fled. The project manager of the site advised police that there was a theft the previous evening that was unreported to police. Items stolen on the previous evening included plumbing parts estimated to be worth approximately $1,000. No suspects have been identified.

February 26, Duncan Street, 7000 block

At 11:05 am, RCMP responded to a business break and enter. A witness heard the business alarm and observed a male on scene. The witness confronted the male suspect who emptied his pockets and multiple power drills fell out of his jacket. Police attended and the male suspect has been identified. Police continue to investigate.
