The Snow Portal Castle
Carter Ricketson, Grade 2
Assumption School
One time I was in bed when a portal to the snow land opened. It sucked me in!
I landed smack into a pile of snow. The snow was hard.
I saw a castle ahead of me. I started walking toward the castle. Then I got to the door and it creaked open.
There was an evil witch! I ran down a hallway until I came to a dead end.
The witch waved her wand at me. But she stepped on a trap! She died.
I went back to earth.
The end.

The Christmas Puppy
Ayva Massullo, Grade 2
Assumption School
There was a little girl named Ayva. Ayva’s Christmas wish was to get a dog.
Every Christmas since Ayva was three she wished for a dog. After five years her wish finally came true.
Her mom and dad surprised her with a cute brown and white puppy. She wanted to go get him toys and when she was buying the toys she remembered all the kids that didn't have much food and clothes and fun toys to play with.
Ayva said to her mom, “I'm going to give all my other Christmas presents to kids that need them.”
Ayva’s mom said, “Let’s go.” And they did!
Everyone had the happiest Christmas ever.
--Santa’s Sleigh
Isabel Harvey, Grade 2
Westview Elementary School
One Christmas night it was windy. Santa was on his way to the kids’ houses. But the Northern Lights were too bright for him to ride in the sleigh because it was hard to see.
So he tried to get back to the workshop. But on the way back he accidentally knocked into a house with a bang. So he called the elves to help Santa with his golden bell.
So they went back to the workshop. They fixed the sleigh up and added some new additions. Now they went back to giving out the presents.
But when they got back to the workshop, Santa checked the present bag. There was still one more present in the bag. He checked it and there was still one more present for Bree.
Santa raced back to the sleigh and swung the bag behind him. Then he got to Bree’s house, swung down the chimney and put the presents under the tree. And then he went back to the house that he crashed into and fixed it up.
Then when they got back to the workshop they had the greatest Christmas ever.
--The Best Christmas Present Ever
Cecilia XiXi Gao, Grade 2
Westview Elementary School
Once upon a time there was an elf named Cecilia. Her job was to deliver presents to kids on Christmas Eve. She wears a purple shirt and long striped socks. And a Santa hat.
She also has a magic bag. It can hold a lot of presents.
One night when she climbed down the chimney of Kristy’s house she noticed her magical bag had a hole at the bottom.
“Disaster!” she cried. Kristy woke up and ran down the stairs.
Wow. She found a little elf crying, really sad, then Kristy had an idea. She ran up the stairs as fast as she could. She grabbed her Christmas sock. She told the little elf to use it to fix her magic bag. And she did. She fixed her bag.
Then the magic came back. The little elf picked out a present. Kristy opened it.
Inside was a cute, furry, pure white kitten! Kristy was dreaming of a kitten because she was very lonely. Her parents were so busy working. And she had no sister or brother. So she always wanted a kitten to play with.
This is the best Christmas present ever.
--Elf on the shelf
Charlotte Jasso Tello, Grade 2
Westview Elementary School
One cold Christmas Eve Jack’s family was watching TV in the living room. He wanted to play with the elf on the shelf but his mom said: “if you touch it she will lose her magic.”
Jack didn’t listen to his mom and picked up the elf named Miss Nelson.
All of a sudden Miss Nelson cried: “Oh, no! I’ve lost my magic.”
Jack didn’t know what to do to help the elf. Miss Nelson left and went to the North Pole.
Jack learned his lesson. He would never touch the elf ever again.
