How the Snowman Saved Christmas
Brennan Somerville, Grade three, Westview Elementary School
Once upon a time there was a small and smart snowman named Smarty. He loved to figure out mysteries and stuff like that. His best friend Jolly did, too.
Jolly was a big and jolly snowman. One day Smarty heard something. He heard a snowman say “help me” so he rushed to find the snowman.
He saw a snowman melting, so he rushed to his workshop to make a snow machine. He built a snow machine and he tested it and it did not work. So he built another one and it did work.
So he used it on the melting snowman and it worked, then he lived a very happy life.
The end.

I Saw Santa in Hawaii
Everett Currie, Grade three, Edgehill Elementary School
Once I was sledding with my friends, then I crashed my sled. Then I had some hot cocoa.
I went back out sledding for an hour, then I went inside to have dinner. I cozied up on my couch with my Grandma and ate some cookies and drank some eggnog and read "The Night Before Christmas.”
Then I brushed my teeth and then I went to bed and my mom read me some books. Then I went to sleep.
Then I had the craziest dream that I saw Santa in Hawaii. He was surfing the waves, then he came back to the beach and had a drink. Then I got transported to somewhere snowy, and then I saw Santa beside me, he was still wearing shorts and shivering.
He said to me, "I forgot it was Christmas Eve and now I'm behind schedule, will you help me?”
I said, "Maybe if you invite some of my friends we can help you get back on track!"
Then he invited Cam, Oisin and Camden and Henry. Henry and Camden can help make presents, Oisin can wrap, Cam can get the reindeer ready and I'll double-check the naughty and nice list!
It took a couple of hours to get it all done, but we did it! Then he let us ride in his sleigh. Then I woke up and I told my mom, sister, dad and all my family.

The Mouse With No Name
Violet Larsen, Grade three, Westview Elementary School
Once upon a time there was a mouse and he had no name. He would imagine that he had friends and that the girls would play dolls and the boys would play cowboys. But the thing he liked best was his piece of cheese.
It was the night before Christmas. I had hung the stocking for me and also my Christmas tree and then I noticed that no one had ever given Santa a present before. So, the mouse started to wrap his piece of cheese with a gum wrapper. Then he checked the calendar and it was not the night before Christmas, it was Christmas.
He went to bed and then he woke up and went down to the Christmas tree. He saw Santa.
Santa picked up the mouse and said, "What is your name?"
The mouse replied, "I don't have a name.”
Santa said, "I will name you Santa Mouse."
He gave Santa Mouse a red suit, a tiny little red hat, shiny little black boots, very clean gloves and a fluffy little sack, and one more thing, he gave Santa Mouse a slick black belt with one more little detail, the GOLDEN SQUARE on the belt.
Santa Mouse said to Santa, “I have a present for you as well.”
He got out his piece of cheese wrapped in the gum wrapper and gave it to Santa. Santa took the mouse in his hand and put him in his sleigh with him. You could hear them yelling from the sleigh, "Merry Christmas!"

How the Reindeer Saved Christmas
Paul Isert, Grade three, Westview Elementary School
“Hey kids, wanna hear a story?” said the dad.
“Yeah,” said the two kids.
“Okay, it starts like this…Ho ho ho, I'm Santa Claus, I need to deliver some presents to some kids.”
“He he he, I’m Santa’s pet fairy, I'm going to mix up the presents and put the wrong names on the presents.”
A few minutes later a little reindeer wanted to go for a walk to visit Santa. On his way there he saw the presents in the factory were mixed up! He rushed to tell Santa, “Santa, Santa, the presents are mixed up!”
“Now don't be silly, they can't possibly be mixed up,” Santa said.
“It's Christmas after all, what are we going to do?” the little reindeer replied.
“We need help,” Santa said.
“But from who?” the reindeer asked.
“The reindeer from Canada, and we're going to call them,” said Santa.
“Hello, yes we are the reindeer from Canada,” the reindeer said. “Could you help us?” Santa said.
“Yes!” the reindeer replied.
“Can you come here? The presents are mixed up,” Santa said. “Yes, we're on our way,” the reindeer said.
A few hours later they arrived.
“We need to sort the presents,” said Santa.
“How?” the reindeer asked.
“By alphabetical order,” Santa said. “It will take approximately one hour,” Santa said.
One hour later…
“Is everything packed?” said Santa.
“Yup,” replied the elves.
And everyone got their presents.
The end.
