Last week signs of spring appeared in the qathet region, but that was short-lived. Some call it a false-spring; or Mother nature's trick played on flower buds and bulbs, getting them to sprout prematurely.
At 3 pm on Tuesday, February 27, Environment Canada stated that the temperature in the qathet regional district is zero, with a mix of snow and rain. Unlike Courtenay to Campbell River on Vancouver Island, which will see five centimeteres of snowfall today; the qathet region's forecast is predicting only two centimetres of snow, changing to rain in the evening with temperatures rising to 6 degrees Celsius.
Wednesday to Friday the Upper Sunshine Coast will be wet, windy and cloudy, with temperatures hovering around 6 degrees in the daytime, and dropping to one degree in the evening. Saturday and Sunday will see a mix of sun and cloud, with a 30 percent chance of showers. Sunset on Tuesday, February 27 is at 5:57 pm.
