Fiona Butula opens Marine Denture Clinic to provide patients with a stress-free experience in denture assistance.

Fiona Butula of Marine Denture Clinic understands what's involved in a patient’s decision to get dentures.

Dentures can impact the way a person looks, the way they eat, the way they speak, and even the way they smile--which is exactly why she takes such a meticulous approach in preparing the best solution for each of her patients. Whether it be partial or full dentures there is always a treatment plan specific to each patient.

“My top priority is making sure that my patients are happy with their smiles,” says Fiona, who graduated with honours from George Brown College’s Denturism Program in Toronto in 2017.

Marine Denture Clinic opens next week in Gibson’s Crossing in the old location of the Medicine Shoppe.

Part clinic, part lab, Marine Denture Clinic uses only high standard acrylic-based materials in the fabrication of dental devices.

“Dentures are not just for the elderly,” says Fiona. “There are any number of reasons why a person of any age might have lost teeth and it's my job as a health care professional to make sure that our patients are cared for in a way that suits their needs.

“The first step is talking to patients and determining their denture requirements,” she says. “Then, I can help them make informed and educated decisions about what options would be best for them.”

Marine Denture Clinic specializes in providing partial and full conventional and precision dentures as well as repairs and relines.

Full dentures are removable prosthetic devices that are used by patients who are missing all of their natural teeth, while partial dentures are for those patients who are missing only some natural teeth.

“Not all ill-fitting, loose, or sometimes even broken dentures require a new one to be fabricated,” says Fiona. “A reline or rebase may solve the problem.”

Not sure which denture solution is best?

Fiona is quick to point out that new patients receive a free consultation at Marine Denture Clinic and a no-pressure approach.

At the first appointment a full intraoral assessment is given to ensure that any remaining teeth and/or soft tissue in the mouth is in a healthy condition and ready for denture fabrication. She then talks with her patient about what their expectations are and how she can help them with those.

Fiona understands that dental procedures can be hard for some patients, and at Marine Denture Clinic she aims to provide a clean, comfortable place where patients can have a stress-free dental experience.

“I strive to have my patients leave feeling really happy with their dentures and the service they have been provided with,” says Fiona. “I won’t push for something they don’t need. I will just provide them with the best possible options and let them decide for themselves what’s best for them.”
