In a region where waterfront properties dot the landscape, a local company takes an innovative approach to dock building, repair and much more.

Keith Wood, owner of Remote Marine Solutions, is bringing to the table his unique expertise, a passion for the community and creativity that sets his company apart.

“We’ve taken my background in managing, construction and aquaculture, along with experience with anchoring and rigging, to really understand what makes an ideal dock,” says Keith. “No remote location is too challenging for us; we can handle it.”

Established two years ago, Remote Marine Solutions Inc specializes in plastic, aluminum and steel fabrication in the qathet region. The company offers many services, from full dock construction and installations, including anchoring and concrete landings, to custom fabrications for boat repairs.

Keith emphasizes the quality of his products, leveraging Canadian-made, high-density polyethylene, which is highly resilient against UV rays, temperature extremes and impacts. The eco-friendly product doesn’t just contribute to durability, it is also 100 per cent recyclable.

The company also provides red-seal-certified fabrication and welding services, ensuring quality without outsourcing. From custom boat lifts, aluminum ramps, aluminum stairs or any other marine fabrication people can dream up, Remote Marine Solutions has a range of offerings that cater to the unique needs of every client.

One of the significant hurdle’s homeowners face in the region is the process and legalities of installing new docks.

“Installing a new dock can take up to two years due to various governmental and environmental concerns,” explains Keith. “However, modifications or improvements become much easier if there’s an existing structure.”

This expertise is where Keith and his team excel, guiding homeowners through the process, presenting alternatives they might have yet to learn existed and offering solutions tailored to individual needs. The company’s process includes an on-site consultation and 3D design mock-ups, followed by detailed project estimates, ensuring transparency at every stage.

Beyond the technical expertise, Remote Marine Solutions stands out because of innovative gear and an ability to be very mobile with the barge and boats the company uses.

“We take on a range of interesting projects, and the ability to execute them gives me immense satisfaction. Plus, my crew is fantastic. Everyone loves their job,” says Keith. “We’re here to educate and provide top-notch services. It’s all about ensuring quality and a product that lasts a lifetime.”
