Matt and Kate Crockett, owners of Collective Interiors, have acquired the local Benjamin Moore Paint store at 7B-7030 Alberni Street and promise enhanced product offerings, extended hours and personalized home decorating services.

After nearly three decades under the dedicated stewardship of Dave and Julie Howes, the local Benjamin Moore Paint store on Alberni Street in Powell River has welcomed new owners with big plans for the future.

Kate and Matt Crockett, known in the community for their successful home décor business, Collective Interiors, have taken the reins. They promise to blend their flair for style with the trusted quality of Benjamin Moore paints.

Located beside Scotiabank, the store is now part of a one-stop shopping experience for all home decorating needs, including flooring and window coverings.

"Our goal has always been to provide everything our customers need to create a beautiful home from the ground up," explains Kate. "Adding Benjamin Moore’s exceptional range of paints to our lineup was a natural step forward for us."

Collective Interiors now offers an extensive range of architectural and industrial paint products, suitable for every surface and budget.

Renowned for its zero-VOC colourant system, Benjamin Moore paints promise durability and true colour longevity, ensuring that walls look freshly painted for years. The new owners are excited to introduce a state-of-the-art paint chip display featuring more than 3,500 colours.

The store also offers personalized services such as colour consultations, colour matching and interior design consultations.

"We’ve installed a new paint chip display, which is the first thing you see when you enter the store," says Kate. "It’s all about helping our customers envision the potential of their spaces."

New store hours will better serve the community, she adds. Collective Interiors has expanded its operating hours and is now open on Saturdays from 9 am to 4 pm, a change from its previous schedule. This shift is designed to better accommodate the needs of local customers, many of whom are engaged in home improvement projects over the weekend.

The store is open from 8 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday.

In line with their commitment to sustainability, the Crocketts are proud to feature Benjamin Moore products that align with LEED® v4.1 categories, which also aligns with their dedication to environmental responsibility.

Additionally, the team at Collective Interiors stays updated with the latest industry standards and practices through ongoing education, including Benjamin Moore’s online courses.

As for current trends, earthy tones are making a strong comeback.

"Warmth is back, and we’re seeing a lot of greens, browns and creamy whites," notes Kate.

Popular colours such as OC-65 Chantilly Lace for doors and trim and OC-45 Swiss Coffee for a perfect neutral tone are among the favourites.

The Crocketts express deep gratitude to the previous owners, the Howes, for their guidance during the transition.

"We’re incredibly thankful for Dave and Julie’s ongoing support as we take this new step," says Kate. "We hope to honour their legacy by continuing to serve our community."

As they look to the future, Kate and Matt are enthusiastic about integrating their expertise in home décor with Benjamin Moore’s trusted paint solutions, ensuring that every customer leaves with everything they need to turn their house into a home.
