On behalf of the Board of Education for the qathet School District, I extend warm wishes for a joyous New Year to all.
As we reflect upon 2023, it is gratifying to recognize the many accomplishments within our educational community. The board, through consultation with many, has developed a comprehensive five-year strategic plan for the school district.
This strategic framework prioritizes the enhancement of learning outcomes, the provision of support for issues related to food and mental health, addressing climate change concerns and fostering innovation. These endeavours are undertaken with a steadfast commitment to truth and reconciliation, as well as the ongoing imperative to cultivate safe and inclusive learning environments.
As we head into 2024, I am filled with hope and excitement by the dedicated team of professionals comprising our district's staff. Their collective expertise will be instrumental in advancing the implementation of the priorities outlined in our strategic plan through their operational plans.
Our diverse student body, encompassing those excelling in athletics, arts and academics, as well as those requiring additional support, is at the heart of our educational mission. It is our aspiration that qathet School District remains at the forefront of innovation, flexibility and creativity to cater to the variety of needs of all students.
