Victoria's Bays United collected all three points in a Vancouver Island Soccer League (VISL) match at Timberlane Park on Saturday, November 18, by shutting out the host Powell River Villa by a score of 2-0

Both sides traded chances in what was an evenly matched first half, according to Villa manager Chris McDonough. The second half started with the teams still scoreless, then Villa conceded goals in the 52nd and 60th minute, giving Bays United a 2-0 lead.

Villa responded late in the match, throwing players forward and creating quality chances, the best coming Niko Critante, Jerod Timothy and James Timothy, but they weren't enough to beat the Bays' goalkeeper, who made a number of crucial saves to preserve the shutout.

With the loss, Villa falls to eighth in VISL standings and face league leaders Vic West FC on the road next week, the first of three straight matches away from home.
