Powell River Villa travelled to Courtenay for an afternoon Vancouver Island Soccer League (VISL) match on November 11 and fell to Comox Valley United for the second time this season.

Comox took a 1-0 at the 25-minute mark after being awarded a penalty kick due to a Powell River foul in the 18-yard box. Villa equalized in the second half, in the 80th minute of play, when midfielder Niko Criitante was brought down inside the Comox 18-yard box. He successfully converted the penalty kick to tie the game at 1-1.

Comox regained the lead shortly thereafter, capitalizing on a corner kick which resulted in a loose ball being put past goalkeeper Matt Liknes. Villa pressed late in the match for a second tying goal but a late turnover at the 87-minute mark gave Comox an insurance goal and a 3-1 win.

The win moved Comox one point ahead of Powell River in VISL Division 1 standings. Vic West tops the table with 26 points. Villa is eighth with 11 points, six points clear of ninth place in the 10-team division.

In the first meeting of the VISL season between the two teams in September, Comox shut out Powell River 2-0 at Timberlane Park.
