Comox Valley United scored early and often on Saturday, October 28, and cruised to a 7-0 road win over Powell River Villa.

The home team was down 4-0 at the half after giving up goals in the fourth, 10th, 41st and 44th minutes, and was unable to regroup in the second half when the visitors scored at 48 minutes, 52 minutes and again at the 75-minute mark.

"Obviously a tough day for the team, not a lot of positives to take away from this game," said Villa manager Chris McDonough. "We have a bye this week so it gives us two weeks to regroup and prepare for our next game."

Following the loss to Comox, Villa is currently ninth in Vancouver Island Soccer League Division 1 standings, one point behind eighth-place Nanaimo and two behind a pair of clubs tied for sixth.

Villa’s next match is at Sooke Celtic (10th place) on Saturday, November 9. The two clubs met in September at Timberlane Park to open the season and played to a 0-0 draw.
