Tristan Hawkins sent a shot past North Island Eagles' netminder during a U18 hockey game in Port McNeill earlier this month.

Ben Belyea scored a pair of goals for Powell River U18 Kings in a tie game at Comox Valley Sports Centre on November 18.

Tyler Durant also finished the game with two points, assisting on Jaxon Peters' first period goal that erased a 1-0 deficit, and then combing with Paxton Schreiber to set up the first Belyea goal, which gave the visitors a lead after one period of play. Tristan Hawkins also picked up an assist on the Peters goal.

Jeremy Pukesh recorded the lone helper on Belyea's second goal, giving the Kings a 3-1 lead midway through period two. Comox responded just over a minute later with two goals in a 13 second span to knot the score at three goals apiece. There was no scoring in the third period.

Earlier this month, U18 Kings travelled to Port McNeill and Campbell River, suffering one-goal losses in each instance.

Hawkins scored the second of two goals in a 3-2 loss to North Island Eagles in Port McNeill on November 4. Durant also scored for the Kings, who trailed 2-0 heading into the third period. Hawkins, whose late goal was unassisted, combined with Peters to set up Durant's goal earlier in the period.

The team lost by the same 3-2 score the following day in Campbell River, despite taking a 2-0 first period lead with goals from Belyea and Liam Carroll. Quinn Carlson recorded assists on both tallies.

U18 Kings host Campbell River for a rematch at Hap Parker Arena on Saturday, November 25. Game time is 1:15 pm.
