Powell River U13C Kings’ players recently came home wearing gold medals.
The hockey club defeated Abbotsford Hawks by a score of 5-4 in the final game of the Sunshine Coast Winter Classic, scoring the winning goal with 18 seconds remaining on the clock.
Powell River finished with an overall record of three wins, one tie and one loss, the latter of which came against Abbotsford earlier in the tournament.
Games were held at Gibsons Arena and Sunshine Coast Arena in Sechelt from December 16 to 18.
Powell River U13C Kings are hosting the Darren Clark Memorial Tournament from January 6 to 8, 2023, at Hap Parker Arena. The game schedule is available on the Powell River Minor Hockey website.
