Powell River Kings skated to a 6-3 win over Coquitlam Express on April 21.

Powell River Kings scored 22 seconds into a BC Hockey League game on April 21 en route to their second win in three days over Coquitlam Express.

11 minutes later, Kings added to a lead they would never relinquish. Branden Toye helped set up both first-period goals with Dylan Hewlett and Aaron Neal each scoring their first of the season.

After Adamo Santia converted on a second-period power play, set up by Hewlett and Caleb Parkhouse, Coquitlam responded with a penalty shot goal and an even-strength marker to cut the lead to 3-2.

Dawson Milliken and Tyden McWillis responded for Powell River prior to intermission, then McWillis added his second of the game in the third period to put the Kings up by four.

Coquitlam added a late goal while shorthanded to make the final 6-3.

Goaltender Jacob Drapeau turned aside 25 of the 28 shots he faced to earn the win.

McWillis was named the game’s first star added of Neal, who had two assists to go along with his goal, and Coquitlam’s Austin Fraser, who had two points on the night.

Kings improved their record against the Express to four wins and two losses. All six games have taken place at Scotia Barn in Burnaby since April 3.

The two teams square off again on April 24. Game time is 1 pm.
