Powell River Kings have announced the signing of 2004-born goaltender Vincent Lamberti, who is from Los Angeles, California.
The acquisition of Lamberti comes on the heels of the departure of Tresor Wotton, who left the team during the BC Hockey League all-star break to pursue an opportunity in the United States Premier Hockey League.
Lamberti has been on the club's radar for quite some time, according to the Kings, and with a spot available the club saw an opportunity to bring in the 19-year-old goalie.
"Vincent is a very agile and athletic goalie with high compete," stated Kings' assistant general manager Stephan Seeger Jr. "He gets post to post quite fast and never gives up on second and third chances. We are very excited to add Vincent to our goaltending duo; he's an exciting player to watch in net."
Lamberti appeared in seven games earlier this season for Connecticut Roughriders of the Eastern Hockey League, compiling a record of three wins and three losses with a 2.61 goals against average and .931 save percentage.
Lamberti will available this weekend when the Kings host Nanaimo Clippers at Hap Parker Arena for a pair of games, 7 pm on Friday, January 26, and 5 pm on Saturday, January 27. Friday's game will be broadcast on Rogers TV channel 4/105 in the Powell River/Comox region.
