Powell River Kings completed their two-game stint at the BC Hockey League (BCHL) Showcase in Chilliwack on Wednesday, October 19, with a 3-1 loss to Salmon Arm Silverbacks.
Jack Blanchett scored the lone goal for Powell River on a third period power play after Salmon Arm had built a 2-0 lead. Karter McNarland and Casey Aman picked up assists on the play.
Silverbacks added an empty-net goal with 23 seconds remaining to seal the win.
Goaltender Liam Vanderkooi, who was named second star of the game, made 35 saves for the Kings, who were outshot 38-21.
Powell River was beaten 5-1 at the first game of the Showcase by West Kelowna.
Kings travel to the East Kootenays for their next game in Cranbrook on Friday, October 21.
