Powell River Kings faced Langley Rivermen in the final contest for both teams prior to BC Hockey League’s (BCHL) two week holiday season break.

Christian Maro and Anthony Yu scored for the Kings, who trailed 2-0 after 20 minutes and 3-2 heading into the third and final period. Anthony Lucarelli, Jace Harder and Alex Sandhu recorded assists for the visitors at George Preston Arena in Langley.

Rivermen converted three of their six power play opportunities into goals, including the eventual game winner in the second period and both third-period tallies. Kings were unsuccessful on two power plays.

Kings’ goaltender Tresor Wotton (10 saves on 12 shots) was replaced by Owen Crudale (12 saves on 15 shots) with 1:29 remaining in the first period after the home team took a 2-0 lead. Attendance was 839.

Kings return to action on Friday, December 29, at home versus Coquitlam Express. The two teams meet again the following night, also at Hap Parker Arena. Both games start at 7 pm.
