Eagles soar to win with four-goal second period at Hap Parker Arena

Joel Purdom scored the lone goal for Powell River Kings in a 5-1 loss to Surrey Eagles on Tuesday, November 5.

With the win, the Eagles moved nine points ahead of the 10th place Kings in BC Hockey League (BCHL) Coastal Conference standings. Surrey is tied for fifth with Alberni Valley, six points behind Chilliwack Chiefs, the top team in the conference.

Wyatt Davis and Sam Grabner recorded assists for the Kings, who trailed 1-0 after the first period and 5-0 heading into period three.

Purdom’s third period marker came during one of three power plays for the home team. Eagles were successful once in four opportunities with the extra attacker.

Shot totals favoured the visitors by a 35-25 margin. Attendance at Hap Parker Arena was 600.
