COLLEGE COMMITMENT: Casey Aman [second from left, in green] checks an Alberni Valley Bulldogs’ forward during a BC Hockey League game at Powell River Recreation Complex last season. Aman, who will return to the Kings’ lineup this season, has committed to play NCAA hockey for Penn State University.

Casey Aman will return to the Powell River Kings’ lineup for the upcoming BC Hockey League season, but now has plans for university. The defender has committed to play National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) hockey at Penn State University.

Aman, who is from Johnstown, Pennsylvania, grew up just two hours away from the campus.

“It’s a great program to play for,” said Aman. “The campus and facilities are great and it’s going to be nice to play closer to home and have my parents watch me play. They haven’t been able to watch me a lot over the last five years, so it’s very exciting for all of us.”

Aman joined the Kings last season and appeared in all 54 games. He scored seven goals and added 20 assists to lead all Kings’ defenders in scoring.
