Powell River Kings endured a game of comebacks at Hap Parker Arena on Saturday, December 10, and earned another two points in the process.
After taking a 3-0 lead courtesy of goals from Karter McNarland, Anthony Yu and Anthony Lucarelli by the 10-minute mark of the first period, Kings allowed four straight goals by Surrey Eagles, who trailed 3-1 after 20 minutes and led 4-3 with six minutes remaining in the second period.
Sam Belanger squared the game at four goals each just 13 seconds after the visitors had taken their only lead, then Ryder Ringor notched his third of the BC Hockey League (BCHL) season one second before intermission, which turned out to be the game-winning goal.
Eagles failed to mount another comeback in the third period. Nic Porchetta and Lucarelli both scored empty-net goals with under two minutes to play to make the final 7-4 in favour of the home team.
Powell River outshot Surrey 34-38. Attendance was 705.
24 hours earlier, Kings defeated the same opponent 4-1.
Kings travel to Vancouver Island for a pair of road games this weekend, in Cowichan on Friday, December 16, and Victoria the following evening. The next home game is Friday, December 30, versus Victoria.
