Powell River Kings announced the acquisitions of defender Landen Hilditch and forward Eliot Compton from West Kelowna Warriors on November 26. In exchange, West Kelowna receives Axel Lofgren, who is currently fifth in scoring (eight goals and eight assists in 20 games) among BC Hockey League (BCHL) defencemen.

The Warriors acquired 19-year-old Hilditch prior to the 2023 trade deadline from the Surrey Eagles. In 89 games over portions of three BCHL seasons, he amassed three goals, 22 assists and 25 penalty minutes. Hilditch was also Kelowna’s captain prior to the trade.

"Anytime you add a player of Axel’s calibre in a trade you have to move out some valuable players,” said Warriors head coach and general manager Simon Ferguson. “Landen and Eliot are both good hockey players and even better people which made moving them especially difficult.”

Compton, who is 17, has scored four times and assisted on nine other goals in 72 games since the start of the 2023/2024 BCHL season.
