Powell River Kings have a new goaltender. The BC Hockey League club recently announced that Ryan Tamelin has signed and is expected to suit up versus Nanaimo Clippers this weekend.
The 18-year-old from Invermere, BC, appeared in one game for the WHL's Victoria Royals this season and another seven in the Alberta Junior Hockey League with Bonnyville Pontiacs, posting a 2-2-1 record, and a goals against average of 3.37.
“I am very excited to have Ryan join us,” stated Kings head coach and general manager Stephan Seeger Jr. “He is a very big young man [6'8"] who takes up a lot of the net and is efficient with his movements. Watching video on him, it was clear that Ryan is calm and tracks well for a bigger goalie."
Kings host the Nanaimo at 7 pm on Friday, January 24, and 5 pm the next day.
